Abstract

The purpose of this work is to conduct analytical research on methods for predicting the parameters of enclosing elements that perform the functions of light-duty structures.

The article substantiates the geometric parameters of the prototypes for the experimental installation of the study of window lightning structures and the critical value of the excess pressure of the explosion, which meets the conditions of safety for human life and health and functional suitability of major building structures. The directions of further researches concerning an estimation of parameters of easily dumping designs are formulated.

From the analyzed literature sources on the design and installation of window openings in buildings of different purposes and types, the basic patterns and typicality of window sizes are established. At the design stage of buildings, the size of the windows is calculated taking into account the required lighting, the purpose of the building, the dimensions of the building, its number of storeys and the conditions of natural light. The percentage of the area of the window opening to the area of the room is regulated by building codes. Typical dimensions of a particular window are determined by technical conditions or standards that offer optimal dimensions that may differ from existing ones, in order to meet the needs of the building.

It is suggested that the geometrical parameters of the chamber of the experimental installation in which the LDC is mounted should provide the possibility of mounting structures with the maximum size. Thus the place of installation of LDC has to provide an opportunity of change of geometrical parameters of LDC to the minimum sizes.

The critical value of the excess pressure of the explosion, which ensures compliance with the safety condition when evaluating the parameters of the LDC, it is advisable to take the value of 5 kPa. It is suggested that the experimental setting of LDC parameters should provide simulation of excess explosion pressure in the range from 5 kPa to 10 kPa.
